Andy Clark
Position: Project Manager

Mr. Clark has thirty years experience in the design and management of industrial, mining, materials handling, chemical and petrochemical projects from feasibility studies through to commissioning and handover to the client. He is a professional engineer and also a project management professional. He has extensive international experience as a project manager, having worked on projects in South Africa, USA, Australia, Zimbabwe, Israel, Venezuela, Germany, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kazakstan.

 
Jim Smith
Position: General Manager

Mr. Smith has thirty years international mineral processing experience including research and development, plant management, process design, commissioning, consulting and marketing. Prior to his relocation to Australia in 1993, Jim held the position of Process Design Director for Bateman in London where he was responsible for assignments undertaken in Guinea, Angola, Southern Africa, Ghana, Sierre Leone, Zaire, India and the Middle East. In Australia has been intimately involved in the process design/technical review of numerous assignments including the Mt Gordon, George Fisher and Sepon projects. He is currently responsible for the Bateman Metals process group (35 process engineers) and is study manager for the Sepon Copper project in Laos.

Mr. Smith is responsible for the Bateman Metals process group and matters relating to the global Process and Technology Acquisition expertise line. These roles involve a combination of functional management and technical review of projects and new technologies.

 
Ken Baxter
Position: Technical Manager, Copper

Mr. Baxter is a process engineer with twenty-six years experience in design engineering including management responsibilities in operating plants, process plant design, and management of metallurgical testwork programmes for a wide range of projects including gold, coal, and base metals.

Ken has been responsible for the process design and commissioning of the Gunpowder Copper Project, Paddington Gold Plant Upgrade, Wiluna Bioleach and the Brockman Detritals Project. His experience covers all aspects of process design from the conceptual stage of projects, through preliminary studies, feasibility studies, project engineering and commissioning. He is currently responsible for the application and implementation of copper sulphide leaching technologies.

 
Steve Paikin
Position: Engineering Manager

Mr. Paikin is a results-oriented, hands-on engineer, metallurgist and project manager with over twenty years of expertise in all facets of the industry. Verifiable track record for the successful completion of multi-million dollar projects through coordinating disciplines, developing and maintaining partnerships, and building positive rapport with engineers, contractors, vendors and clients. Well versed in contract and commercial negotiations, team leadership, organizational agility, business development, coordinating efforts and resources, and identifying market trends and opportunities.

 
Eric Craig
Position: Principal Process Engineer

Mr Craig has over twenty years experience in process engineering in the UK, Australia and South Africa.

This experience covers copper cobalt and nickel solvent extraction/electrowinning; copper, nickel, cobalt graphite leaching; gallium and thorium solvent extraction; platinum group metals refining via state of art ion exchange hydrometallurgy systems; smelting projects including lead and zinc, magnesium, iron reduction, financial model building; combustion processes using oxygen/oxygen enrichment.

 
Greg Henderson
Position: Senior Process Engineer

Mr. Henderson has eighteen years experience in mineral processing, hydrometallurgical plant design, commissioning and production, as well gold refining. He has gained international design, commissioning, consulting and operational experience in projects located in Africa, South America, North America, Central Asia and South-East Asia, and has in-depth expertise in comminution circuit design with emphasis on computer modelling of AG/SAG circuits, beneficiation and ore characterisation; gravity separation circuit design and operation, including centrifugal, table, spirals, jigs and sluice type concentrators for a range of commodities, including gold/silver, cinnabar, manganese, and industrial minerals; design and operation of gold cyanide leach circuits, principally CIP/CIL, with some exposure to Merrill-Crowe circuits; sulphide flotation in conventional and column cells, and pressurised elution circuits; metallurgical feasibility studies -- principally with gold/silver, but with increasing exposure to PGMs, base metals, iron ore and industrial minerals; due diligence studies and technical audits involving capital and operating costs evaluations; and plant commissioning and optimisation.

 
Grenville Dunn
Position: Principal Chemical Engineer

Mr. Dunn is a professional chemical engineer and metallurgist with over 30 years experience in the operation of base metal refineries and associated plant and the design and implementation of projects covering most hydrometallurgical processes.

His professional career included over 20 years in the employ of Impala Platinum Limited in a variety of senior positions leading to his appointment as Manager of Projects, Research and Development where he was responsible for all aspects of project implementation including process design, equipment selection, commissioning and performance testing. A selection of projects is given as cobalt metal refinery; nickel liquor purification plant; iron, arsenic and lead removal plant; pressure oxidative/reduction autoclaves; nickel/copper sulphide matte pressure leaching circuits; precious metals sequential separation and refining process incorporation ion exchange and solvent extraction and environmental projects for ammonium chloride, sulphur dioxide, sulphur trioxide, Nox and dust particles.

Following his career with Impala Platinum Limited, Mr. Dunn has provided specialist consulting services to engineering companies engaged in projects employing hydrometallurgical processes. In this role he has been associated with Bateman Engineering Ltd. since 1999.
